Having another look at the tables we may be still above the relegation places as we have scored more goals than Rushall! I think!

From our next four games we should be aiming to get at least eight points! If we cannot do that I think we are going to be in deep trouble! Listening to Ian Deakin tonight makes me think he is at his wits end with the team. I really hope they can pull it round!

Alex Marshall was sent off for Clay Cross tonight and Tom Marshall was subbed after 12 minutes!

Discipline is a Shambles, who is Addressing this? Including the managers. We are heading into a Relegation battle. I can't believe we haven't replaced tom Cursons. Did we get a fee for him by the way? Polite Question if yes,Has this been spent on the bar refurbishment and new screen as well as the incoming padel courts?

,
Lack of discipline is one of the reasons we are floundering. We never seem able to play our strongest side due to suspensions and injuries
Ian Deakin is clearly frustrated with the team's inconsistency. . How can we go from winning 4-1 at Guiseley and 4-0 at Stockton to losing 1-0 to Stockbridge, 5-0 at Hebburn and a pitiful performance today.
The manager has admitted that his 7 match suspension has probably played a part.
Hednesford were far superior to us today. Our players were totally devoid of confidence (with one exception ie Dylan Youmbi). I’ve never seen us pass back to our keeper so often as today. It was frustrating to watch and unfortunately some of our supporters let their frustrations get the better of them and started to berate the players which doesn’t help.
We now find ourselves in a really difficult situation. We’re in a six game losing sequence and have scored only one goal. We’re getting players sent off every week and we’re staring at relegation unless we can stop the rot. And fans have stopped coming to watch us. Compare us with Belper whose average gate this season is 599 and had a gate of 601 yesterday.

Northern Premier League
Ilkeston Town 0 Hednesford 3
League leaders Hednesford were far too good for Ilkeston and ran out easy winners. It was a 5th consecutive league defeat for Ilkeston leaving them just one point above the relegation positions.
The Pitmen started strongly and there was chaos in the Ilkeston goalmouth in the opening minutes as Hednesford’s forwards had three attempts at goal in quick succession before the ball was finally deflected wide. Ilkeston struggled to keep possession and the visitors remained in charge but a break forward by new signing Sam Bird earned the Robins a corner and provided some relief from the early pressure. Montel Gibson had a shot blocked by Sam Parker and a header saved by Alfie Roberts as Hednesford looked for an opener. The Pitmen took the lead when Seth Okyere lost control of the ball near the halfway line which allowed Niall Watson to race forward and lob the ball over the advancing Roberts on 24 minutes. Three minutes later Ilkeston might have levelled. Harvey Kirby-Moore looked likely to score when the referee confused everyone by apparently over-ruling his linesman and giving offside. ilkeston’s misfortune was compounded by Hednesford going straight down the other end and doubling the lead through Max Sheaf. There was a chance for Ahkeem Rose to add a third but he fired over. Two more chances fell to Gibson and Rose as Hednesford took control but Ilkeston held out until half time.
Ilkeston created the first chance of the second half when Dylan Youmbi did really well before seeing his effort go just wide. Robbie Fox on as a substitute nearly made an immediate impact with a good run and cross but any hopes of an Ilkeston comeback were ended on 62 minutes when Sam Parker received a second yellow card for a last ditch challenge in the area. Rose dispatched the penalty to make it 3-0. A good run with the ball by Jordan Stevens gave Ilkeston a chance to reduce the arrears but his effort flew wide. Just before time Watson had a massive opportunity increase Hednesford’s lead but sliced his shot over the bar.

The new loan player must be wondering what he’s let himself in for and glad he’s only here until January

From the Hednesford point of view ...
From ours, embarrassing defending and a non-existent attack. One thing we are really good at though is pulling the shirt of opponents and getting booked for it.
