I have and thought he was very happy with the teams performance. The comments about the fans are  maybe in response to the sometimes very negative comments that have appeared at times on social media in recent months. These comments do effects the players as I presume they do read them. It is the managers job is to take that pressure off the players and defend them. This is much easier to do when you just won a crucial game and more difficult if you have lost a game that form says you should win. Many years ago a player who had experience of the football league but was playing at the NMG once told me that the fans did not realise that the players can hear every comment made about them at the games in non league football. If the team are not getting results we need really to support the players to help build up their confidence. They are young men and sometimes are not as confidence as we sometimes think. As I mentioned it is the managers job to protect the players sometimes fragile confidence.
As for Deaks I have always found him an approachable and likeable bloke. However if the club feel at the end of the season they need to make a change for whatever reason I will support their decision. It may not prove to be the right decision but it is the clubs decision and for me the club always comes first!
