Wow only one winner at today's game .....the f..ING wind . How bad was that ..
Wasn't a great game but fully understand why because of the wind. The ball was moving on loads of dead ball situations .
Yes we weren't good first half but really tried to make most of the wind in the second . Didn't help with their keeper trying waste time at every kick.
Plus can we get a bloody ref who can actually count to ten !!!!!!!!

.
Sat 4th April 2026
Northern Premier League
Ilkeston Town 1 Warrington Town 1
The blustery conditions proved too difficult for Ilkeston to find a winner despite in a dominant second half. Warrington scored in their first attack then spent most of the game having to defend but despite the battering they came away with a point.

Warrington started with the wind in their favour and a lapse in concentration from the Robins defence allowed Kallan Murphy to put the visitors ahead on 4 minutes turning in a James Melhado cross from the right. Murphy then had another opportunity when he latched onto a forward ball but Alfie Roberts was able to make the save. Despite plenty of possession Ilkeston weren’t creating real chances while Warrington were sending searching balls forward and on one occasion Roberts had to race out 30 yards to make a clearance. Good play by Murphy took him past two Ilkeston defenders before the danger was cleared. Just before half time Robbie Fox did well to set up a chance for Sam Essien whose shot was blocked.

Ilkeston looked a different team with the wind behind them for the second half and in the opening moments Liam Isherwood saved bravely at Daniel Odunaiya’s feet. Moments later Essien won the ball and forced Isherwood into another save. Then Connor Dixon rattled the Warrington crossbar with Isherwood back-pedalling before Odunaiya scored a brilliant equaliser finding the net via the far post on 55 minutes. It looked like the floodgates would open but a Colin Daniel screamer was just the wrong side of the post. Warrington were conceding numerous free kicks into their goalmouth but they were defending them well. Ilkeston were denied a strong penalty appeal as the pressure increased, then Matt Thornhill’s floated cross landed just the wrong side of the crossbar with Isherwood unable to get to it. Fox was so close with a header from Taylor Anderson’s cross but the ball flew inches wide the post. There was a chance near the end for man of the match Essien but he went for power and was off target and Warrington escaped with a point.
