Ilkeston in the Derbyshire Senior Cup
Ilkeston have an impressive record in the Derbyshire Senior Cup. Their first was we believe against Heanor Town and their most recent was ironically against Glossop North End who we play in this years final. The game is the present version of Ilkeston Town"s first final.

Match was played at alferton and both goals where scored by larwie wilson from the penalty spot.

The match reports say that Wilson had a penalty saved and Richards scored from the rebound and James Reid won the game with a strike similar to the one he scored with the year before. From the Buxton Advertiser! I cant find anything about the Mickleover Sports final! However I have contacted Duncan Payne and hopefully he can help me out! The crowds in the fifties were as big as 12,000 so where the DFA get the idea that there is going to be records broken is a mystery. It may be that you paid on the gate in the fifties and sixties!

Ilkeston Town reached the final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup on a number of occasions in the nineteenth century.

Thanks to Mark Duffy and Duncan Payne there are no only few gaps in the DSC Final Stats! So if there is anybody who knows scored Buxton's third goal against Ilkeston and South Normanton Welfares equaliser. Get in touch!

"It ultimately came down to two second-half penalties - one missed by Robins skipper Laurie Wilson but which had Kane Richards pouncing to net the rebound, the other smashed home by James Reid in a style identical to that which clinched this trophy in dramatic fashion 12 months earlier."
