For the first time, I managed to see every league game this season.

Our best performance was Stockton away. We looked a really good team that day and bossed a good side. I really thought we'd kick on after that (if I recall correctly it was Swinny's 2nd game in charge following Deaks' ban) and I was confident we'd beat Stocksbridge at home the following week, but we didn't, we lost 1-0, in fact after Stockton we lost the following 6 games. That killed our season.

Other games I enjoyed? Guiseley away, Hebburn at home, FC United at home, Belper in the Derbyshire Cup, and of course the Derbyshire Cup Final.

Best performance by an opposing team and worst performance by us was the same game - Hebburn away. A freezing, wet night in November. We got battered 5-0. Hebburn were ruthless, at it from minute 1, and battered us. Swinny made lots of changes and none of them worked. I remember the players came over to thank us after the game and Alfie Roberts said one word "Embarrassing". Rushall away was another very poor performance.

Best ground? I'm an old git and a sucker for the old grounds, so Workington and Gainsborough would be favourites. Shame to see Workington redevelop their ground but everything has its time. Worst ground is Warrington Rylands; don't like being unkind so I'll leave it at that.

One other thing I'd add is the people we come across on our travels to games. It might be because I'm a Lincolnshire lad, and of course it's a generalisation, but I find I warm more to people down the eastern side of the country. I just find the people of Yorkshire and the North East more friendly than the people of the North West and the West Midlands.
