Jamie Walker
“Unofficial” is saying Jamie Walker has left Ilkeston Town FC.
Does anybody know anything ?

Been through the socials and most people presume he has left. It is not too clear whether he really has. I for one hope he has not as he is one of my favourite players. Jamie should have been playing at a higher level than step three as he always had that extra bit of magic that could turn a game! So if you have left Jamie thanks for all the goals, assists and impossible crosses!

The club have announced today that both Jamie and Robbie Fox have gone ...
We can today confirm the departure of Jamie Walker and Robbie Fox from the Robins.
We thank Robbie for his efforts in an Ilkeston shirt, and Jamie who has been a consistent figure with the club for a number of years.
We wish you both all the very best for the future.

I’m feeling deflated after hearing we’ve lost Jamie, Robbie and now Sam Essien and there's almost certainly more departures to come. Who will replace them? That’s what we don’t know.

As I said earlier when Deaks leaves a club a fair percentage of the player leave with him. Like Alex I expect many more to choose to leave. A lot of people at the club called for Deaks to be replaced. It’s odd that now what they wanted has happened some are moaning about the change in players. I presume the new management team will want to bring in their own players so there will be some uncertainty about the new season!

Let’s be honest Jamie did not have the best of seasons but is that down to Deaks who played him everywhere to suit the availability of players available, which Jamie took at personal sacrifice to himself.
Team / management discipline was also a key factor losing too many players throughout the season.
Plus point for Deaks was his access to loan players from Mansfield, most where good some where not.
Not sure how the new management assess the current squad on who they want to keep, some are leaving of their own accord some not. What if they keep X amount of players who are not up to it, based on the fan’s opinions that is. will they promote players they know from levels 5&4 or do they know levels 2&3 as well.
Will they go early and get business done quickly or get the nucleus done and then wait for them that want more money or think they can play at a higher level only to find they’ve still not got a club.
Budget will be the overriding factor in all cases.
Lets hope the club keep us all regularly updated.
