Sitter missed by Barwell after carving through the Ilkeston defence. 0-0. 16 mins

Good Ilkeston attack started by Stevens but Barwell keeper makes the save. Good interception by Ross-Lang then best Ilkeston move so far almost brings a goal. Stevens with a first time volley is so close. 0-0. 35 mins

Barwell looked the better side in the fist half
Ilkeston need to do better in the second half attacking the clocktower end

Foul by Daniel gives Barwell a free kick chance. Nothing from it. Attendance 143. 0-0 54 mins

Seaton can’t quite reach a right wing cross. Barwell free kick is wasted. 0-0. 60 mins

Good chase back and win of the ball by Reason. Then almost an Ilkeston goal. Barwell passing is superior. What a save by Wilson. Header from the corner is wide. 0-0 69 mins

Ilkeston free kick on edge of area. Nothing from it.
GOAL BARWELL They’ve been much the better side 0-1 76 mins

Ilkeston header clears the bar. I have to say it’s been a really poor performance today. Barwell have looked far superior.

Late corner for Ilkeston . Again Nothing from it. 0-1. 89 mins

Nothing going right today. That has to be our worst pre-season performance
Result: Ilkeston 0 Barwell 1

For some Ilkeston fans it was the first time they had seen the new Robins and they weren’t overly impressed. I know pre-season results don’t matter but we were outplayed by a team relegated from Step 3 last season.
I've seen all of the pre-season games and in my opinion the best performance was at Worksop and today was the worst.
I'm starting to form an opinion on some of the players
Obviously Pharrell Johnson is the standout player, big strong and quite quick
Elwalid Elhagany is a similar player to Pharrell
Cashmere Rowe - I've been impressed every time I've seen him
Dylan Reason - I like his attitude - he never gives up
Jevin Seaton - looked really good in the early matches
Sam Wilson - good shot stopper but likes to venture out of his goal
Jordan Stevens's class stood out in the first half at Clipstone and again today
Jordan struggled to get into Deaks's teams. Now he's our most gifted player.
Performances will be better when we have chosen the squad and the likely team is able to start playing together.

Harry Wakefield was working round the ground yesterday. He's another player which hasn't played yet

Hopefully yesterday was just one of those days and to be fair it was hot out there in the midday sun. I think if we had managed to score a goal, it might have perked us up. Jevin Seaton who had looked good up front in previous matches had a quiet game.
Is Harry Wakefield injured Alex?
