Alnwick Town narrowly overcame RCA Sunderland in midweek winning 1-0 though a late Kyle Cockburn penalty. Tomorrow Alnwick take a break from league duties to take on Pickering Town in the FA Vase. It is maybe ironic that for just one day Ilkeston Town will be playing further north than my adopted hometown club in Alnwick Town. A bit of a run in the FA Vase could be a rare treat for Alnwick as they do not have a graet record in national cup comptetions.
