Ilkeston are wearing all red and Paget are in all blue. It's kickoff time and we're off. Ilkeston are kicking towards the clock tower end

Re: Ilkeston v Paget Rangers : Live Updates

Morris fouled 5 yards outside area. Walkers shot hits the wall of defenders and is cleared. Close save for Ilkeston as Paget break and Deakin has to save.  Another Ilkeston free kick in same position as earlier.Tom Marshall takes and Paget keeper has to tip over. Fairclough header narrowly wide.  Gibson header brings another save.  Lively start.    7 minutes gone

Re: Ilkeston v Paget Rangers : Live Updates

Paget Goalkeeper Josh Benson looks decent already. Rangers doing better now after shaky start.
Great run chase and cross by Fairclough but Alex Marshall can't connect.  Jemson inches wide with header from corner.  17 minutes      no score

Paget are creating chances too.  Gibson feeds Lavell White but his shot is too high.    20 minutes

Terrific run by Blake nearly creates opportunity for Paget.  They're well in the game now and look dangerous going forward.        30 minutes

Re: Ilkeston v Paget Rangers : Live Updates

Ilkeston now trying to wrestle back the initiative.  Paget are defending well.  Paget then so close to scoring as ball flashes across Deakin's goal and goes out.  White forces a corner for Ilkeston. Ball hits Paget players hand but its accidental. Almighty scramble in Paget goalmouth but they get it away.    GOAL  at last by Jamie Walker from free kick      42 minutes     1-0.

Swift reply from Paget but Deakin saves at foot of post.  Paget keeper then has to save.

Re: Ilkeston v Paget Rangers : Live Updates

Ilkeston needed that because Paget look capable of scoring. Gibson shot goes narrowly wide. Yellow for Woolley.  Morris ground shot just wide. Ilkeston now on top.    2-0    hour gone

Two Paget substitutions on 65 minutes Gibson and Martinez on .  Terrific effort by Montel grazes the angle of post and crossbar.  Amazing point blank save by Deakin. Paget forward can't believe he didn't score.    2-0    70 minutes

Re: Ilkeston v Paget Rangers : Live Updates

There goes the full time whistle.   ILKESTON   6   PAGET RANGERS  0

Never expected that score at half time when Paget were holding their own and look capable of getting a result.

Re: Ilkeston v Paget Rangers : Live Updates

Excellent second half performance! After a frustrating first half the lads overpowered a plucky Paget team. I thought Paget looked a useful side in the first half and despite packing their they did look like they could get a goal or two. After the break however Ilkeston discovered the ruthlessness which was maybe absent in the opening weeks of the season. I felt a bit sorry for Paget they were better than 6-0.
Deans made some crucial saves especially when we were 2-0 up. I thought Chris Shaw was outstanding. Tom Marshall was excellent and Jordan Wheatley had another commanding performance in midfield. What can you say about Jamie Walker probably one of his most ordinary games as a defender but goes and scores a hat trick. His set pieces are worth his selection even if he did nothing else the whole game. The rest of the lads were brilliant as well working hard and TOGETHER!
Cant wait for Walsall Wood in December!
