Ilkeston Ladies 5 Castle Donington Ladies 2
Ilkeston Ladies entertained Castle Donington Ladies yesterday at the NMG. It was an entertaining game with plenty of goals. Ilkeston dominated the first half and swept into a 4-0 lead. Hannah Bloomfield put them ahead and then got her second from the penalty spot after a trip in the box. Georgina Williams and Laura Metcalfe added two more. before half time. The second half was more even and Donington pulled one back with a cracking shot from a tight angle. The visitors sensed a come back but a mistake by their keeper allowed Ilkeston in for a 5th goal by Jade Eaglefield. Donnington kept going and pulled another goal back, probably the best goal of the game, but that was the end of the scoring. Star player for me was Georgina Williams.

Ilkeston Town Ladies 6 Hasland CFC Ladies 1
Another very watchable game at the NMG ended with Ilkeston Ladies moving up to second in the league. Emily Edmonds gave them an early lead on 8 minutes and Shanead Higton added a second on 23 minutes as Ilkeston started to take control. Ilkeston were always dangerous going forward and it was no surprise when Siobhan McCormick made it 3-0 before half time. Three minutes after the restart Hasland pulled one back. This gave the visitors a lift but any hopes of a comeback were abruptly ended when Shanead Higton scored her second goal of the game on 52 minutes and that was quickly added to when Jade Eaglefield made it 5-1 two minutes later. Ilkeston's final goal came 15 minutes from time when Jade Eaglefield scored her second. Hasland's keeper didn't look at her best in the first half but made up for it in the second half with several outstanding saves.

Ilkeston Town Ladies 6 GFC Alfreton 2
Ilkeston progressed comfortably through to the next round of the competition with a dominant performance against GFC Alfreton. Tyla Peters opened the scoring after 9 minutes after racing through the Alfreton defence. It was then an even contest until Jade Eaglefield scored twice in quick succession on 29 and 32 minutes. The second was direct from a free kick high into the net which gave the keeper no chance. Alfreton gave themselves hope when they got one back before half time.
Alfreton's keeper was embarrassed ten minutes into the second half when her clearance from the outer edge of the penalty area was hit straight back into her empty net by Hannah Bloomfield. Shanead Higton rounded the Alfreton keeper and slotted in the fifth on 65 minutes and added another five minutes later. Five minutes from time an Alfreton player was sent off after receiving a second yellow for disputing a decision. Alfreton were then awarded a penalty on 88 minutes but although Ilkeston's keeper blocked the original shot she could not keep out the takers follow up. My star player was speedy Tyla Peters whose running at defenders caused problems for Alfreton throughout the match.
