What a finish.  Green shoots and keeper saves.   Ilkeston are wasting time and its fisticuffs .

Re: Ilkeston v Racing Club Warwick : Live Updates

Hutchcox only gets yellow. Should have been red. For all Ilkeston's dominance they've finished up hanging on.

Re: Ilkeston v Racing Club Warwick : Live Updates

After all the build up and the record crowd the match certainly lived up to expectations with five goals and a nail biting finish. Racing Club started off looking like they would take Ilkeston apart creating two chances in the first couple of minutes. The visitors were playing really well and Ilkeston were under pressure but on 6 minutes it was the Robins that took the lead.following a fumble by the Hinckley keeper which allowed Alex Marshall in to open the scoring. The goal settled Ilkeston but Warwick still threatened. Marshall doubled the lead right on half time to give Ilkeston a flattering two goal lead. I expected to see an all out assault by Racing Club in the second half but it was Ilkeston who took control and Morris made it three. Ilkeston then created numerous opportunities to go on and win by a big score but the Racers kept them at bay. Then in the final minute Racing Club got one back but it didn't seem to matter. However when they scored again a minute later Ilkeston were in danger of undoing all their good work. As Ilkeston tried to slow things down there was a handbags moment near the corner flag but no further scares. For regular supporters it was a cracking game with the right result. Lets hope that the non regulars were impressed enough to come again.
