On paper this match looks like a stroll. Market Dayton have lost all three of their matches so far including a 6-0 defeat at Leek and a 4-0 defeat at Belper. However, they will be keen to pick up their first points so we must not be complacent. There will probably be as many of our supporters as theirs so let's get behind the team and ensure we get the three points plus a few goals too.

Because of our FA Cup run we're going to be lower in the table than we should be. Although promotion is our main objective we can still keep progressing in the Cup with a win against Alvechurch and another victory against Kempston Rovers in the FA Trophy. If we do well in the Trophy as well it may be seen as detrimental to our chances of promotion but it doesn't have to be. Winning breeds confidence. This could be a very successful season in all competitions.

It’s early days and things are going well (and long may that continue), but I still think, over the course of the season, we’ll need a bit more strength in depth. Apart from the full-backs (when are Wilson and Bennett available again?), the other 9 seem to pick themselves at the moment (Durrant, Fenton, Maguire, Thomas, Reid, Brown-Hill, Watson, Troke, Goodson). If Goodson got injured, for example, I think we’d struggle. I’d like to see us bring a speedy winger in, to offer pace and width.

I thought Cullingworth looked a good player towards the end of last season, it would be nice to see him get a chance against Market Drayton.

And we need other players to chip in with a goal or two … we’ve scored 16 goals in the 6 competitive games we’ve played and the forwards (Watson, Goodson, Troke) have scored 14 of them (and Goodson and Troke have got 12 of them). Jack Thomas and the sub Mason Lee scored at Coventry Sphinx. So Brown-Hill and Reid haven’t scored yet, and no defender has chipped in with a goal yet.

Can't get to the next few games but should be ok for the trophy game week on Sat. I feel for Market Drayton but that a side I hope we bag quite a few goals . Tues night will be great test for us but I think we are still finding our feet what being virtually a new side . Still learning if each other is still on going .
It was great a around spirited performance last Tues was a test of character.
Will be looking on here and Twitter for these next two games .

Market Drayton have not made the best start but they were struggling when we went there last year and they gave us a hard game. Don't know if Charlie Marzano is suspended for this match but apparently Billy Bennett and Joe Wilson are fit again so one of them could be in today's team.
We've been reliant on Zak Goodson up front so let us hope that some of the other players can hit the net today.

15 Minutes to kick off. The pitch here has quite a slope from goal to goal. Despite the rain the surface looks ok but we'll see.
I've been told Ollie Brown-Hill is ill. Another downpour has just started.

Great tackle by Maguire stops Drayton attack. Drayton corner, it's cleared. Drayton speculative shot is too high. Slip by Fenton puts Durrant in trouble but Ross does well to block the shot. Good little spell by Drayton 1-0 22 minutes.

Ilkeston have gone off the boil allowing Drayton to gain confidence. Ilkeston bench are yelling at the players to do better. Another Drayton corner and it's cleared. Drayton are playing better than Ilkeston right now. 1-0 32 minutes
