Loughborough confident ahead of new season

NEW FACES GIVE THE CLUB A GREAT FEEL
BY KIERAN KING  1 DAY AGO By James Kendrick

Loughborough Dynamo assistant manager Brad Munn has expressed his delight at how player recruitment has been going this summer and how pleased he has been with business so far.

The Moes have already confirmed that midfielders Curtis Burrows and Tristan Matthews have extended their stay at the Nanpantan Sports Ground and they will be joined by new signing centre-back Michael Jacklin for the 2021/22 season.

On the impact of new signings, Brad said: “We’re really happy with how things are going. New quality faces at the club is always a really good feel. It gives the lads an extra bit of motivation each year.

The likes of Tristan and Curt committing for another season is nice for everyone to see. I know a lot of the players will say the old cliches about unfinished business, but we said it as soon as the season was officially curtailed that it’s one of those off-seasons where we are really looking forward to getting going. We’ve been in touch with a few of the lads and they’re keeping well and we’re really excited for pre-season to start.”

Brad Munn has also given an update on how the players are keeping fit and what the club is expecting of them during the off-season. “It’s just making sure that the players have got what they need. They know that my phone is always on and it’s the same with Lee {Attenborough}. If they need anything, whether it’s planning or extra motivation they are more than welcome to pick up the phone and they know exactly where we are.

“More importantly, we sat down with each of them {the players} at the last game just before we gave them the six weeks off. We went through a few expectations and plans, a few of them have a few goals to come back to pre-season with like fitness levels so hopefully they have enough motivation.

“For some of them, it’s completely just about looking after their body and making sure they rest and relax. A few of the lads have had a few rounds of golf and are certainly looking in good shape. Certain players are definitely putting in the work already and everyone seems really excited to come back for pre-season.”
