After their excellent win on Tuesday against Sunderland West End Alnwick Town take on their neighbours Sunderland RCA away on Wearside. Alnwick are now second in the table and are starting to be recognised as real promotion candidates. I looked at their formation on Tuesday night and realised they play a 5-4-2 formation with attacking full backs Egglestone and Bright providing the thrusts down each flank. The defence of ant three from Shepherd, Iley, Cherry or Wilkinson are solid at the back whilst Patterson, Shell and Aziakonou providing the industry in midfield. Up front Potts has hit rich vein of form and cant stop and he was supported by new signing Smith, Anderson and the injured Clark and Aghostini. However Alnwick have a very strong squad and have players on the sidelines who can easily fill in like Baston, Walker and Dobie. All in all it os looking very promising for Alnwick Town so far.
