Alnwick Town are back in league action tonight against Hebburn Town Reserves in a 7:45 kick off at the Greensfield 3G pitch. Alnwick are five points behind leader Wallington with a game in hand and one point behind second placed Newscastle Independent with four games in hand so a win tonight would lift them up to second place. They will be looking to learn from the 5-1 drubbing in the cup by AFC Newbiggin and hopefully cut out the out of character defensive mistakes that cost them last week. Hopefully there will be a few players who were missing that will be available for selection most notably Straughan in defence and Patterson and Shell on midfield and upfront leading scorer Ferrier will be hoping to be in the starting line up. Hebburn have only won one league game since September so this will be a game Alnwick will be expected to win and hopefully win handsomely. If they do it will build confidence leading up to another crunch cup game, this time against league leaders Wallington next week.
