Well done John. Very interesting. End of season form is one of the many factors to be considered when trying to predict positions for next season.
My thoughts:
I wouldn't disagree with Stockton, Gainsborough and Hednesford being near the top.
Prescot Cables showed great improvement last season and could well be playoff contenders next season
I don't expect Warrington Town to finish bottom but they will probably be mid table
Rushall (the other relegated team) will probably be around mid- table
Re. Guiseley and Ashton in bottom half. I personally don't think they will be the force they were last season but definitely around the playoff positions.
Re promoted Widnes, Cleethorpes and Stocksbridge - don't know enough about them but will probably be bottom half as they get used to playing at the higher grade
It will be interesting which of the Warrington teams finish higher. Rylands have lived in the shadow of Town for some time. Town's average attendance last season in the NL North was 985, Rylands average attendance 471.
I expect FC United to improve on last season's 17th position
The battle to stay up could involve Stocksbridge, Hebburn, Bamber Bridge, Lancaster, Whitby, Leek and Workington
My early prediction of the top positions was:
1 Hednesford Town
2 Gainsborough Trinity
3 Stockton Town
4 Rushall Olympic
5 Warrington Town
6 Guiseley
7 Ashton United
8 Ilkeston Town
With more information (incoming players etc) I would now revise my prediction of the top positions to be:
1 Gainsborough
2 Stockton
3 Hednesford
4 Ashton
5 Guiseley
6 Ilkeston
7 Hyde
8 Prescot or Morpeth
