NPL RoundUp not included in Chasetown Matchday programme

I did this for the Chasetown matchday programme and it didn't go in so I'm posting it on here

A Nat Watson goal gave Carlton victory over Cambridge City who had Max Ryan sent off and have no points after three matches. Chasetown remain unbeaten after seeing off Wisbech in a game of seven yellow cards. Coleshill’s 100% winning start was ended by Stamford. Sam Moore’s first half red card didn’t help Coleshill’s cause and Stamford eased to a  3-0  win with goals by Freeman, Duffy and Johnson. Spalding pulled off a fine win at Corby with goals by Assombalonga and Broccoli. The day’s biggest attendance was at Halesowen where 732 saw their victory over promotion rivals Belper. Jamie Molyneux and Jac Redhead put the Yeltz two up before Jonathan Margetts pulled one back for Belper.  Finley Wilkinson scored a late equaliser for Histon against Sutton Coldfield in the day’s only draw. Ilkeston overcame Bedworth United despite James Reid seeing red in the first half. Loughborough Dynamo hit Sporting Khalsa for six with Curtis Burrows and Ryan Nesbitt each scoring twice. Soham Town Rangers remain pointless after losing at home to Shepshed Dynamo. Soham’s Ollie Ward saw red ten minutes from time. Yaxley recorded a second win at the expense of Daventry. In a tense finish, Daventry’s Jarvis Wilson was dismissed and Jack Eldridge scored Yaxley’s decisive second goal.

Chasetown consigned Bedworth to a 4th consecutive defeat with goals by Joey Butlin, Liam Kirton and Ben Lund. The Scholars now have 11 points from 5 matches. Belper and Ilkeston had to settle for a point each after a 2-2 draw  in front of the days biggest attendance of 901. Cambridge City and Soham Town Rangers each collected their first point of the season after drawing 1-1. Carlton won at Daventry with goals by Tom Maddison and Nat Watson, while a Curtis Burrows penalty was all that separated Shepshed and Loughborough in the battle of the Dynamos. Spalding United recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Histon. Two second half goals by Carlo Franco and Gurjit Singh for Sporting Khalsa gave table toppers Halesowen a scare but the Yeltz held on to win by 3-2. Stamford recorded a 4th consecutive victory thanks to an early Tom Siddons goal against Corby Town who unexpectedly languish near the foot of the table. Coleshill Town bounced back from Saturday’s defeat at Stamford with a win at Sutton Coldfield courtesy of a Sam Moore goal.  Finally, a Toby Allen brace helped Wisbech Town to pick up a first win, beating Yaxley 2-1.

Ilkeston won a physical encounter at Coleshill with first half goals by Wakefield, Fenton and Campbell. Gio Dainty saw red for Coleshill near the end. Bedworth United picked up their second win with a brace by Elliot Parrott against Histon who had Bubba Camara sent off. Two late Carlton goals saw them overcome Sutton Coldfield while Halesowen extended their 100% start at Chasetown after scoring three times in the second half. It was Chasetown’s first defeat and 637 watched the game. Belper won 3-1 at Daventry and Loughborough Dynamo hit six past Yaxley including a  Tristian Matthews hat-trick . The match between the two promoted sides ended in a 2-0 victory for Sporting Khalsa. Match of the night was undoubtably Spalding United’s win against Stamford. The Tulips came from 0-2 down to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with two goals in added time. Glenn Yala got the equaliser and Bailey Baker scored the winner. The win lifted Spalding into the top five. The Wednesday night games both ended in 1-0 home wins  for Cambridge and Corby. Soham Town Rangers are the only team without a win.
