Round Up of NPL matches

Sat 13th November 2021

With no Premiership or Championship matches being played, attendances at non-league level received a boost

Belper Town  3  Soham Town Rangers  1
Belper came from behind to take the points in a game watched by 591 spectators. Ollie Ward gave Soham an interval lead but Nelthorpe levelled with a penalty. Two goals in the final 10 minutes by Curtis and Litchfield earned Belper the win

Corby Town  1  Cambridge City  1
596 spectators were at Steel park to see Lewis White put Corby ahead after only 3 minutes. Isaac Maynard rescued a point for Cambridge in the second half. Both teams remain mid-table.

Daventry Town  3  Bedworth Utd  2
Last week Daventry ended a run of eleven games without a win against Sutton Coldfield. This  Saturday they made it back to back wins with a narrow victory over Bedworth. Finch, Nketia and Bowen scored the Daventry goals. Daventry’s McNeil was sent off in a tense finish.

Halesowen  0  Coleshill Town  2
A massive 1255 crowd was at The Grove to see league leaders Halesowen lose to Coleshill. The dismissal of Halesowen’s Jack Holmes after just 20 minutes gave Coleshill an advantage which they exploited with two first half goals by Sam Moore. Coleshill defended their lead successfully and Halesowen lost their top spot.

Histon  2  Stamford  2
Basement club Histon backed up last weeks draw at Carlton with another credit worthy draw, this time against Stamford. Duffy and Matwasa gave Stamford a two goal lead but Histon fought back with goals by Wilkinson and Chisari to take a point. The gate of 295 was well up on previous attendances this season.

Loughborough Dynamo  1  Ilkeston Town  5
Loughborough’s attendance of 429 was more than triple their average gate for the visit of Ilkeston who go top of the league as a result of their win. Two first half goals by Goodson and another by Fenton took the game away from Dynamo. Troke and Campbell added further goals before Markelic got a consolation for Dynamo.

Wisbech Town  0  Spalding Utd  0
The gate of 244 was Wisbech’s biggest of the season but they didn’t see any goals. It was a welcome point for Wisbech who have now picked up just three points in a seven game winless run. After a promising start to the season Spalding’s form has dipped alarmingly and they have failed to score in their last four matches.
