Unfortunately it seems like our visit to Corby coincides with a significant improvement in their form so we will have to be at our best to get the three points we need.

Corby have good support (average gate 453) who will be desperate to see the Steelmen to topple the league leaders.

Corby recently signed Ben Garwood from AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Sam Moore from Coleshill Town.

Before Saturday’s narrow defeat by Chasetown they beat Coleshill by 3-0. So it’s going to be a really tough match.

Halesowen will be hoping that Corby can do them a favour this Saturday. A convincing Ilkeston win would be a terrific boost for our promotion chances.

Hope we are able to take a good number of supporters to Corby for this vital match.

We're level on points with Halesowen who stand between us and automatic promotion. Chasetown are also in with a chance but for me it's straight contest between Ilkeston and Halesowen. In my opinion whoever cracks first and drops points is likely to miss out and will then have to go into the playoffs. It’s all about confidence and momentum. Please don't let it be us who have to play catch up.

After avoiding defeat at the NMG, Halesowen will now be confident that they can win the race. Personally I can't see them dropping many points from now onwards. Whist we have a very tough game at Corby, Halesowen have a what seems like a relatively straight forward home game against Spalding United.

For anyone thinking of going to the Corby match, below is a guide to the stadium. It's one of the better grounds in our league.

THE STADIUM
Steel Park, home of the Corby Town Football Club, was opened on Monday 25th July 2011. The ribbon was cut by Corby Mayor Gail McDade ahead of a 2-0 victory for the Steelmen over Football League side Notts County. Nick Rogan scored the first goal at Steel Park against the Magpies, whilst the first competitive goal was scored by James Ozmen in a 6-1 Blue Square North victory over Bishop's Stortford. The £1.5m stadium was designed by GSSArchitecture on behalf of Corby Borough Council.Corby Town's first home was at the famous Occupation Road ground, which they occupied from 1948 until 1985, before moving to The Rockingham Triangle Stadium. Steel Park includes a mainstand which was erected with room for 577 spectators. With supporters also able to stand on the terrace behind the goal and around the perimeter of the pitch, the official capacity of the stadium is 3,893.The site also has training pitches, tennis courts, an athletics track, boardroom, sponsors lounge, social club and changing rooms. PAST GAMES AGAINST CORBY TOWN

We have played Corby Town 12 times in league encounters and once in the FA Cup and twice in League Cups. Our first encounter was in 1971 and it took us twenty-five years to register our first goal against Corby and twenty-six years to register our first victory. However since that win in 1997 we went ten years undefeated until we lost our last encounter with men from Northamptonshire in 2017.
In the league we have won four, drawn four and lost four. In the cups we have won 2 and lost only one but the game we lost was a thumping 8-1 FA Cup defeat in 1973.

Unfortunately the main stand is facing the sun and the cold wind is whistling along its length. Apart from that, it's great view. The pitch is soft and there's a slight gradient. It's ten minutes to kickoff.

The teams are now out. Corby are wearing black and white, Ilkeston are wearing the red home kit with red shorts. The teams come out "Steel men" their signature tune.

EX ROBIN WATCH Amari Morgan-Smith was substituted in extra-time in Kidderminster's FA Cup game against West Ham United. At the time of posting it's still 1-1 and looking like it going to penalties. Amari had an excellent game and got loads of praise for his work rate from Deon Dublin!

The goal has given us a bit of confidence and we're passing the ball better now.
Irvine brings down Corby forward and gets a yellow, Good effort by Furey from the free kick but its wide. GOOD EFFORT BY SAM MOORE GOES WIDE. 1-0 27 mins

Zak breaks free but he can't find colleagues. Moore looks for a pen but the ref isn't fooled. There's not much fluidity because of the wind. Durrant again does well to catch in the swirling wind. Clifton shot is only just wide.
