Promotion from Step 4 to Step 3

People keep asking how promotion and relegation works.
This is what Ollie Bayliss posted on his twitter account on 9th June 2021
The FA's plan for promotion & relegation at Steps 1-6 next season
So 4 teams are relegated from each of the four Step 3 leagues ( ie 16 teams in total)
They are replaced by 2 teams from each of the eight Step 4 leagues.
The problem is that there are six teams to be promoted from the NPL step 4 divisions (ie two from NPL East, two from NPL West and two from NPL Midlands) but only four teams will be relegated from the NPL Premier. Therefore two teams will have to be placed in the Southern League Premier Central.
