One can only assume that the blank Saturday was put there in case there was a backlog of bad weather or covid related postponements. As it has turned out there have been very few postponements so far, so it looks like it wasn’t necessary but at the time the fixtures were produced there was a real possibility of many matches being called off for Covid reasons. 

That’s my guess.

After all the comments about Saturday 5th March being a fixture free day in our league, I think we now should be grateful for it. After eight matches were postponed yesterday, these matches can now be rearranged to be played on that date.  It saves us a Tuesday night trip to Spalding.
