Despite dropping seven points in our last six matches, we’re still top of the pile, if only on goal difference but nevertheless automatic promotion is still in our own hands. The teams below us will be desperate for us to slip up against Cambridge City. They will know that Cambridge away is our toughest match in the run in. It’s their best chance of us dropping points. So if we come through it with a win it will be a massive boost to our chances and a real blow for our rivals.
The result of the Cambridge match really is make or break. Cambridge are mid-table and have nothing to play for but pride but like every other team they will raise their game because they are playing against the team at the top. They don’t particularly like playing on Histon’s ground as their home record indicates. We played there a few week ago so we know what the pitch is like. What we don’t know is what the weather will be like.
More than ever we need our supporters to help get the team over the line. We can do it.
Chasetown also have a difficult match away to Carlton so Ilkeston, Halesowen and Stamford will be hoping that they drop points. This weekend's results just might bring about a shake-up in the positions at the top.
Fixtures Sat 2nd April 2022
Belper Town v Wisbech Town
Cambridge City v Ilkeston Town
Carlton Town v Chasetown
Daventry Town v Stamford
Halesowen Town v Histon
Loughborough D v Corby Town
Spalding United v Coleshill Town

Sutton Coldfield T v Shepshed D
Yaxley v Bedworth United

One day to go before another massive game. In terms of importance this fixture is on a par with the Chasetown match. We’re still top but we have to win to stay there and this is generally regarded as the toughest of our remaining games.
In our first 13 away matches we had 10 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat. Since then we’ve had 2 draws and a defeat. How we could do with a comfortable win tomorrow to restore confidence in players and supporters.
There are two massive games this Saturday which affect the top of the table, our game against Cambridge and Chasetown’s visit to Carlton. The results of these two crucial games could well determine who are Champions on 23rd April.

I was going to go on the supporters bus this week (it would be about £40 in petrol for a 200 mile round trip in the car) but it's full (I thought they might run 2 buses again?), so it's Carlton v Chasetown for me I'm afraid.

i did think about going on the bus but I don't wake up that early on a Saturday and like you Nicky cannot afford the petrol!

The group wanted to put on two coaches but not enough names came forward . We are seriously looking two coaches for the Bedworth game especially if the result goes out way at Cambridge .

Look guys i called it last week 1 bus after having a good chat with Zane.
We needed over 70 people at £15 a shot to break even.
In future it would help us if people let us know as early as possible.

MATCH PREVIEW - ILKESTON TOWN 2nd April 2022
Cambridge City welcome the current league leaders when Ilkeston Town visit Bridge Road on Saturday.
With five games left of the league campaign, the Robins are currently involved in a close race for the title.
Goal difference separates them from second place Chasetown with Halesowen a further three points back in third.
It was Chasetown who were City’s last opponents.
The Lilywhites returned empty handed from Staffordshire following a 3-0 defeat last Saturday. Taylor Parr returned to the starting line-up that day after missing the previous two matches with injury, and is set to feature again at the heart of the City defence. Influential midfielder Scott Bridges has been missing with injury of late and if he doesn’t make it again then Ben Bradley could feature in the starting line-up after coming on as a substitute last Saturday.
Ilkeston scraped home against Yaxley last weekend courtesy of a last-minute winner. Their last defeat was against Chasetown on 12 March – only one of four defeats this season.
The player to watch will be striker Zak Goodson. The former Basford United player has scored 20 goals during the current campaign, and was on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture which City lost 2-0 back in November.
Their squad also includes Joe Maguire, who is the brother of England and Manchester United defender Harry. The Robins defender did not feature in the Yaxley game last week, but if he does play against City, he will be looking to have a better afternoon than when he was last at Bridge Road as he was sent off against Histon in February.
The match is being sponsored by M R Barrett Electrical and kick-off at Bridge Road is at 3:00pm.

Have We Met Before?

The fans have got to realize that maybe leaving it late as in a few days before the actual game to book a seat on the coach is a little to late . Especially what with our run in to the end of the season with us possibly winning the league , On a normal match week maybe yeah but not now. I promoted the Chasetown game BIG time ( not saying we got two coaches because of this but ) but what i am saying is , we ALL need to promote the coach/.coaches in the future . I am in the process of doing this now for the Bedworth Utd game . I am hoping this will be promoted in the next programme against Daventry , plus we can all do our bit where ever , social media , telling family and friends .
PLEASE PUT THE WORD OUT GUYS ABOUT THE TRAVEL !!!!
