Re: Message to ITFC supporters from Kev Cross

.

There was much agonising when we struggled to win our final matches convincingly but we came through the sticky patch successfully to clinch promotion. Whilst other strong teams like Stamford, Halesowen and Chasetown have to compete again at Step 4, we are now to set play at Step 3. To finish above those three was a massive achievement. Stamford finished the strongest but unexpectedly succumbed to unfancied Belper. It then looked good for Chasetown to secure promotion but they too were “nailed” by the outsiders.
So Stamford, Halesowen and Chasetown have it all to do again and have to hope that they hang on to their star players who will no doubt be frustrated at missing out.  Meanwhile Ilkeston are upwardly mobile, a club where the best players will want to come. Who wouldn’t want to come to Ilkeston, a club with ambition, a nice stadium and facilities, a perfect playing surface and a large passionate fan base.
When our new owners came in, they said they wanted to take us up the football pyramid to National League level. Many of us were sceptical but the journey has begun and we’re on our way.

Please make the effort to attend the Supporters Group AGM on Wednesday 25th May 2022, at the Clubhouse starting 7 30 pm
At present only about ten per cent of our fan base are members of the Supporters Group and we would love to increase this.
There has never been a better time to join the Group and show your allegiance to the Club.  You will get to know things and you can have your say on matters concerning supporters.
The main benefit of being a member is subsidised travel to away matches but the group intend to increase member benefits.
If you are interested in joining the committee they meet once per month currently on Wednesday evenings at the NMG Clubhouse.
Be sure to attend the AGM to get the latest information on the season ahead.

Last season saw a large increase in the number of fans watching Ilkeston Town both home and away.
The Supporters Group hope to build on last season's success on the pitch by increasing membership of the Supporters Group.
Due to increases in petrol and diesel costs we anticipate more people will be wanting to travel on the Supporters coaches to away matches. Two coaches per away match may become the norm.

Topics at the Supporters Group AGM  on 25th May will include :
Supporters Group membership fees and benefits and
Prices for away travel next season.

If you're there you can have your say.
