Ben O’Hanlon Signs For The Robins
May 23, 2022

We are delighted to announce that 26-year-old left back Ben O’Hanlon has joined the Robins. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers, Darlington and Harrogate Town defender joins Martin Carruthers’ side as we move into the Southern Premier League Central for the 2022/23 season. Manager Martin Carruthers said the following about the former England U19s international; “Ben comes highly recommended by a number of people and is another quality defender added to the squad. “He has a sweet left foot and is an attack-minded full back who is very comfortable on the ball.
“I’m sure he will suit our style of play and that the fans will be very happy with this signing.”
Welcome to the New Manor Ground Ben.

Signed for Stourbridge in the summer of 2020 from Hednesford Town. The Telford-born player started his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers. He left Molineux in the summer of 2017 having had loan spells with Corby Town, Nuneaton and AFC Telford and he then headed north to spend time with Harrogate Town before signing for Darlington in January 2018. He returned to the Midlands on loan at Hednesford from the Quakers in February 2019, before making a move to Stourbridge on a permanent basis ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Re: New Signings

.

Obviously the guy has had a good career ......  Brighton paid £2million for him

https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=34857

But most peoples initial reaction will probably be: Why are we signing a 36 year old ?

Dave Hilton and Martin Carruthers know what they're doing so let's reserve judgement.

Could be an excellent signing at this level in the short term.

Re: New Signings

Age is just a number. If he’s looked after himself could be a very good signing. Born in the same month as James Milner, and he’s still a top player at the highest level. Can’t see that he played anywhere last season?

Re: New Signings

Yet another fantastic signing. Goes to show it means we are not just making the numbers up.
Only problem i have 5 doesn't go into 2 or 5 doesnt go into 3 or is 1 on his way out!

Interesting times ahead for us ilson fans

Re: New Signings

heard really good things about the new forward player , not a great goal scorer but he is brilliant at holding the ball up. I was saying this to someone at work then the very next day it happened .
Just wonder if we have right back in my mind and a keeper ?

Re: New Signings

We need a keeper and a right back. Maybe a season long loan from forest for the keeper.

We have done that in the past

Can’t believe I’ve just seen this.

Jamie Ward signs for Ilkeston

What a sensational signing - Another proven goalscorer.

His goals helped Buxton get into to the National  League North and he can do the same for us.

What a choice of attacking players we now have.
