Long Eaton sign Rod Orlando-Young

.

Our Erewash neighbours, Long Eaton United have made their first summer signing and it's a good one.

The Blues can confirm the signing of former Norwich City and Frickley Athletic winger Rod Orlando-Young!
The 27-year-old attacker brings a vast amount of experience and bags of quality to the squad.
 Welcome to the Blues, @Rod8Young

He will be unfortunately somewhere else by Christmas. A cracking player and an entertainer though!

Long Eaton will be relying on the players who earned them promotion for the coming season at Step 4.

LONG EATON UNITED CONFIRM RETAINED LIST   BY ROB MCNEIL

Long Eaton United are now able to confirm its retained list as we transition into the 2022/23 season.
Retained List: (as confirmed by Blues’ Manager Ian Deakin)
Sam Wilson
Brad Wilson
Larell King
Sam Parker
Mitchell Robinson
Romaine Graham
Kieran Walker
Marley Fearon
Danny Gordon
Jamie McGuire
Tom Marshall
James Taylor
Jamie Walker
Kameron Campbell
Reco Fyfe
Alex Marshall

Blues forward Ben Hutchinson has agreed to continue training with the squad during pre-season, although currently, the experienced attacker is unsure as to whether work and family commitments will impact his ability to travel to away fixtures. However, as mentioned Hutch will continue talks and work with the squad ahead of the 2022/23 season to ensure his fitness levels remain strong.

Ian Deakin’s aim is to keep the close-knit group together and strengthen with a few additional players in various positions in order to help us challenge within the Pitching In Northern Premier League – which can be seen by our signing of Rod Orlando-Young earlier this month  The club would like to place on record its thanks to the players that have since departed Long Eaton United FC but helped us massively during our title-winning season – we wish them well in any future endeavours.
