0-0 Final Score Not at the game but an excellent battling display by all accounts which should have earned the young lads more than a point! More punditry from those who were there later!

Those who went to the game saw a cracking match which could have gone either way, There were no goals but plenty of chances for both sides. Ilkeston had most of the possession in the first half and should have led at the interval. They created several opportunities but the Coalville keeper kept them out. Dexter Atkinson had the best chance but the keeper blocked his shot in a one on one situation. Coalville's manager could be heard ripping into his players at half time and it seemed to have the desired effect as the visitors upped their game in the second half. The Ravens pressed the Robins back but Thornberry, Head, Baker and Leverock were defending with determination. Ilkeston looked dangerous when breaking forward and near the end Coalville's Luke Foster was lucky not to see red when he cynically brought down Atkinson when he was through and Foster was the last defender. Coalville created plenty of chances themselves and Ilkeston keeper Dale Eve pulled off several outstanding saves. It was another addition to the winless run but Ilkeston can take heart from a good performance and a deserved point. After the game, Coach Steve Welsh said that he was pleased with the performances of several players and that a point for each side was a fair result. He praised Ilkeston's defenders and especially Dale Eve for two remarkable saves.

Last night's performance was a big improvement all round. Recent signings Dale Eve and defender Dante Leverock have really tightened up the defence making us far less likely to concede goals and this has given our midfield more opportunity to push forward. We now need to take last night's performance forward into Saturday's six pointer against Sutton Coldfield. We are starting to look a better team and the Coalville performance should give all the players some much needed confidence. It is vital that we take all three points from the Sutton Coldfield fixture and bring the winless run to an end to have any chance of pulling off an improbable relegation escape.
