On Sat 23rd July, the Supporters bus is back as we travel to play Hinckley Leicester Road. It's a decent ground so really looking forward to this match.
Two of our league rivals have already played against them in pre-season friendlies. Tamworth went there and beat them 4-0 and Coalville went there and beat them 4-1. So the result of our match may give an indication of whether we are at the same level as Tamworth and Coalville.

About Leicester Road Football Club (now renamed Hinckley LR FC)
Established in 2013, Leicester Road FC (nicknamed The Knitters) are members of the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. As Hinckley’s premier football team and with a highly regarded youth development set up, they are a FA Community Charter Standard Club and one of the best run non-league outfits in the area. LRFC’s purpose-built stadium even has the required ground grading criteria for the English Football League and is the second largest football stadium in the county - only Leicester City's King Power Stadium can hold more spectators on match days.

if i remember right when we played Leicester road we were told they couldnt use the main stand because the original Hinckley owner still owned it and wouldnt let the club use it or along that line. . Plus there were other issues as well something about access to a certain area . Still a good ground though ...

NEXT UP ILKESTON TOWN BY WEBSITE ADMIN
Former Midlands League rivals Ilkeston Town visit Leicester Road on Saturday 23rd July 2022. We welcome a much changed Ilkeston Town to the one we competed with in the Midlands Football League Division 1 in the 2017/2018 season. Ilkeston are now well established under new ownership and firing on all cylinders both on and off the pitch after just clinching the Northern Premier League Midland Division title and have now been switched to Southern League Premier Central Division to start their next chapter of their remarkable success story.
Pre-season so far has seen Ilkeston lose, win and draw so they will obviously be looking to step up a gear in their fourth fixture. Meanwhile Hinckley will be lining up for their third pre-season friendly after Tuesday's game with Heather St John was cancelled due to the extreme weather. Hinckley LRFC will also be introducing our new food and beverage price list to try and ease the cost on supporters enjoying local semi professional football matches.
Fixture Details:

Ex Robin Jermain Hollis has put Long Eaton 1-0 up at Heanor

I'm back online now. Montel gave ilkeston the lead after 11 mins but then Hinckley were awarded a penalty.
Bukowski guessed right and made a brilliant save. Its 1-0 after 22 mins

Are they actual signings ?????

Kalern Thomas is playing really well in defence and attack.Ilkeston are having the bulk of possession. Shot by Ward is blocked. 1-0 27 mins
Offline
Mistake by Willock nearly costs a goal but Ilkeston defender got back to clear the goal bound shot off the line. Willock's back pass fell short of Bukowski allowing Hinckley forward to collect and prod a shot goalwards.
Great move between Ward and Gibson ends with Ward's shot going just wide. 1-0 34 mins
Offline
Troke shot blocked by a defender. Gibson clattered in area but nothing given. Great shot by O'Grady brings a fine save by Hinckley keeper. 1-0 42 mins

Ex Robin Jack Roger score an excellent goal to put Long Eaton 2-1 at Heanor

Ilkeston are pushing for a second but Hinckley are still in the game. Another chance for O'Grady and keeper denies him again.
It's half time : Hinckley LR 0 Ilkeston Town 1

Only the one goal so far but its a good game. Both teams are giving it a good go and there's been chances for both sides. Troke has done well today and Wakefield has been more involved than of late.
Offline
There's been some changes for the second half. A Hinckley shot clears the bar. Great tackle by Ollie. 1-0 53 mins
Offline
Its been a good start by Hinckley the better side so far. 1-0 59 mins
Offline
Alex Marshall scores for Long Eaton United 3-1
Offline
Ilkeston are struggling to create opportunities this half. Hinckley continue to press Ilkeston counter attack brings a corner. Fenton header from the corner is just to high. 1-0 66 mins
Offline
Must say Brown-Hill is again having a solid game. Drinks break in front of me and the Ilkeston players are grumbling to each other. Montel and ward are back on. 1-0 75 mins

4-1 Alex gets his second here at Heanor It’s been tasty this second half!

Campbells shot goes into the side netting. Goodson appears to be fouled but the ref is letting a lot go unpunished by both sides. Brown Hill and Ward combine to set up a chance but Hinckley clear. Then Ilkeston really close to a second but Hinckley survive. 1-0 85 mins
Offline
Good play by Ward bur Hinckley clear the danger. Ward free kick sails over the bar.
Its ended 1-0 to Ilkeston
Not the most convincing performance but its a 1-0 win.
