Workington did not look like a team who were three goals better than Ilkeston but to be fair they took their chances better and thoroughly deserved their win. The Robins seemed to lack belief after a bright opening spell and looked deflated after the first goal. The defence looked very hesitant after that blow and at one point the visitors looked like they could fill their boots! To be fair to the young players of Ilkeston they fought back and hit the post and came very close in the last ten minutes or so. What Ilkeston crave is what they have not got and that is a couple of experienced heads who can grind out a result and support the inexperienced players. These players will benefit from the experience but a possible late battle to avoid relegation will be hard work and not a positive feeling in the longer run . Especially if they ultimately lose that battle!
