We are delighted to confirm that we have secured the signing of Tom Solanke on loan from Boston United. The former Stourbridge FC and West Bromwich Albion central midfielder will be available for Saturday’s trip to Matlock Town.

In the 12 months since leaving West Brom, Tom has played at 5 different clubs:
Played for West Brom under 21s - left Sep 21 to join Stourbridge
3 months later (Dec 21) left Stourbridge to join Weymouth
2 months later (Feb 22) left Weymouth to join Alvechurch
5 months later (Jul 22) left Alvechurch to join Boston Utd
6 weeks later (Sep 22) joins Ilkeston on loan

I like the Arlott-John signing, a bit of pace, trickery, width, the ability to go past a man, we've been crying out for that. Why we need another right back or defensive midfielder I've no idea.
