Kieran Fenton 100up!

Kieran Fenton

Captain Kieran Fenton, if selected, will make his one hundredth start for Ilkeston Town Football Club against St Ives.

Kieran joined Ilkeston Town from Quorn in November 2019 and made his debut in a 5-0 defeat of Loughborough Dynamo. He slowly won over the Ilkeston faithful with his measured and calm approach to defensive play. His distribution particularly the long raking pass to the wide players feet gained many plaudits. He has also displayed tremendous technique from a free kick just outside the box. This was demonstrated to dramatic effect when he clinched the Northern Premier League Midland Division title for the Robin in 2022 with a delightfully taken free kick against Wisbech. His first ever goal for the Robins came in August 2021 in a 3-1 win over Bedworth United. He went on to score eight crucial goals in the 2021/22 season. His latest goal was just last week against AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Kieran Jetta Fenton was born in Nottingham on November 25 1994 and joined Nottingham Forest where he worked his way through the ranks before joining Tamworth on loan in 2014. After being released by his hometown club he joined Worksop Town before moving on to Basford United in 2017. He then had a year at Coalville Town before reuniting with Martin Carruthers at Quorn. Three months later he followed Carruthers to the NMG.

Kieran had before his hundredth game played in 99 games in which Ilkeston won 51 times. 21 games were drawn and only 27 games were lost. The Robins scored 195 and conceded 158 goals in games in which Kieran played and the majority of these he has also been captain.

Kieran has become an ‘Ilson Legend’ who hopefully will get to 200 appearances.

Re: Kieran Fenton 100up!

Not a very good ratio of 1.5 goals against every time he plays but a good ratio on goals he has scored for the club.

Most say he has got better from when he 1st joined the club and just think how many games would he have played if we didnt have covid
