The match has been postponed

The players have quite rightly decided that they have had enough! The big issue is now what happens next? One scenario is the club and particularly the prospective new owners sort out a deal with the players enabling the club to carry on till the end of the season! Alternatively the club could be thrown out of the league and go into administration! The problem with the second scenario is whether the League will then let a takeover happen and let us stay in the Northern Premier League. The difficult question for people involved with the club to answer is whether it is better to let the club go bust and start up with a new club debt free in a much lower league or try and soldier on and hope the new owners can keep the club in the EvoStik! Whatever happens it is an embarrassing and very sad day for all who want to see non league football thrive in Ilkeston!
I personally don't care whose fault it is. We could dissect this issue for years and while we do the club dies before our eyes! I think it is better but not easier to look to the future and see how we can grow football in Ilkeston! Dark days indeed!
