In an unexciting game of very few chances Buxton boosted their playoff chances. Ilkeston managed only a couple of shots during the whole game and the Bucks didn't do much better. Only in the final five minutes did Ilkeston push forward in numbers and then they were caught out by a Buxton breakaway from which they scored with the last kick of the match.

I was very surprised by the lack of numbers in the home support considering they are now in the play off places! A dull game and Ilkeston did not look like a team nearly twenty places below Buxton. It was however the same problem of a lack of fire power upfront with the Buxton keeper not having to make a save the whole game. Their first goal was due to ah uncharacteristic mistake by Matt Baker and the second was in the last seconds of the game when Ilkeston were finally pushing up for an equaliser. You can tell how unexciting the game was by the fact that it was first time I really noticed what a pronounced slope down to one corner the pitch there is at Silverlands! Also it was coldest end of season game I think I have ever attended which is due to either old age or the altitude!
