    well we would need cover for Wardy as he gets injured and bookings galore .....lol

    Well cross Ross off the list now , hes gone to  Long Eaton . Massive miss there guys ...

    Ross has been out injured for a good while.  I was told we were waiting for him to get himself match fit. It now seems that Long Eaton have beaten us to get him signed up.  May be Long Eaton have just signed him as goalkeeper cover till the end of the season whilst they have a chance of promotion. There's an end of season deadline when there can be no more signings.

    At the ground this morning I was privileged to chat with Jamie Ward about next season. Nothing is decided for definite but briefly these were his thoughts.  

    We need to strengthen the spine of the team ie goalkeeper, central defender and another striker.
    Re the goalkeeping situation; we may continue to take goalkeepers on loan from league clubs as these are of a good standard in a key position. 
    We definitely need to find a competent central defender before the start of next season.
    We also need another striker so that we’re not totally reliant on Leroy who we hope to keep next season. Jamie said he has someone in mind and if we get him it will be a massive boost to the team. 
    He also said he would like a competitive midfield player who can score goals.
    We definitely have Henri Wilder and Declan Errat-Thompson signed up for next season and we are also confident of keeping Kieran Fenton.
    Jamie also mentioned that we will probably invite Ben O’Hanlon to come and train with us at the start of next season.

    Next year’s wage bill has to be lower than this years. Last year’s playing budget was based on an expected increase in gates which didn’t happen mainly due to unforeseen circumstances.

    What's the situation with Charlie Wakefield? He left us for Belper on a season long loan deal, so is he back with us now? Did he sign a contract with us?

    I thought Charlie Wakefield was the Player of the Season for 2021-22! I can’t imagine what happened to turn him from a star performer to a spare part in a matter of weeks. I would love to see him back to fulfill his undoubted potential at the NMG but players who are loaned out for a whole season are not always that enthusiastic about repeating the experience.

    Might explain why he has disappeared! Just found out Dan Udoh missed nearly the whole of last season through injury.
