Today Ilkeston entertain local rivals Mickleover Sports in their home game of the season. This will also be our last home game of the season in the Premier Division of the Noerthern Premier League and if takeover talks don't go well it could be possibly our last home game ever as Ilkeston FC.
Our visitors have avoided relegation with a late run of form which has seem them distance themselves from th struggling pack. Personally I have always had a soft spot for Mickleover Sports as I used to be programme editor at Mickleover Royal British Legion and some of legions back room staff moved on to Sports after they moved to Station Road.
Hopefully the fans will again get behind the players in what has been a horrible season. As Duffers most eloquently stated last week it has been a snot bucket of a seasonal! Let's however it's not our last!

Final Score Ilkeston 0 Mickleover Sports 1
A typical end of season fixture which Ilkeston could have quite easily have won had they took their chances early in the game. In the second half Ilkeston looked the better side and hit the post and came close on a number of occasions. The goal that sunk Ilkeston was defensive mix up which obviously affected stand in keeper Kieran Tongue who was obviously upset about the incident after the game!
The future for the football club is still uncertain and the fact that nobody seems to know what is going to happen does not bode well! If there is to be a takeover you would presume that those involved would want to sort it out before the club goes bust! Hopefully for the sake of the fans, players, staff and academy scholars something positive can happen as soon as possible! If it does not we could have watched our last Ilkeston FC match on th New Manor Ground!

It was very disappointing to lose this game. We paid dearly for the two really good chances which we missed early on. Then came the unfortunate own goal. Neither player to blame. Just one of those unlucky incidents that happen occasionally. In an open game both sides hit the woodwork twice with Tom Gamblen's effort being worthy of an equaliser. We now have just two games left and our depleted squad picked up more injuries with Reece Horne and Ben Morris having to leave the field. We are at Workington on Wednesday with little time for them to recover.
