Its one way traffic at the moment as we approach half time. Dwyer breaks free and crosses, Gordon gets head to cross but its just wide. Excellent save by Eve draws applause.  Baker almost gives Ilkeston lead when his header hits post on stroke of half time.  Ht 0-0.

Re: Workington v Ilkeston : Live updates

Very tight decision. Most home  supporters thought the "goal'' was good.  We don't get any luck.

Another Workington substitution 83 minutes. Then Reece Horne replaced by Connor Paine. Two man tangle, ref gives Workington the free kick. Another Workington yellow. Corner to Ilkeston. Referee shows straight red to Dwyer. in last minute . Don't ask me what for.

3 minutes added time.  Dwyer must have said something (like you've given us nothing all night).
Its finished   :  Workington 2 Ilkeston 0.

Re: Workington v Ilkeston : Live updates

It was a frustrating night for Ilkeston as decisions appeared to go against them. Apparently Anthony Dwyer was red carded for calling the ref a cheat. That will always get you a red but his frustration was perhaps understandable . Dwyer's disallowed goal at the start of the second half seemed to be particularly harsh as he appeared to have timed his run perfectly before slotting the ball home. The red card in the final minute came following a throw in given to Workington which looked like Ilkeston's.. Matt Baker's header against a post might have given Ilkeston a half time lead and Dwyer's disallowed effort would have put them two up. Having said that Workington did play well in the second half and put Ilkeston's defence under a lot of pressure. There could be no complaint about Workington's first goal but the second was another decision in their favour that the ball had crossed the goal line before being cleared.
