Early chance for Lita but his first time shot is straight at the keeper. Tolley effort goes wide of the left post. Lita shot blocked by defender. It's all Ilkeston in the opening exchanges.      0-0    8 mins
 

Declan has a big chance after good work by Sembie Ferris but he drags it wide. Hallam and Lita combine but keeper intercepts.  First corner of the game to Belper.  Ball breaks for danny south but Yates saves well.      0-0    22 mins

Two corners in quick succession for Ilkeston.  Jordan Handson heads in from Dec's cross but it's disallowed. Another Handson header is too high.        0-0      36 mins

Declan's shot is only just wide.  It's end to end just now.  Hallam goes down under challenge but no pen. It would have been harsh if it had been given so no complaints.    Mistake by Young who loses the ball and Belper forward scores.   0-1      59 mins

Christie does well down the left side and is fouled. The free kick comes over and Fenton fires in the equaliser.    1-1     65 mins

Zottos immediately takes a whack. Fortunately he's able to continue. Zottos does well to win a corner but it's wasted. Fenton header from Hallam's corner is wide .      1-1     80  mins

Both keepers made some good saves. We dominated the first half and should have been ahead at half time. But at least we were making chances, that's something we've struggled to do in the other games. Although second best for much of the game Belper created several chances. Their late winner came from our Number 5 Ethan Young losing possession but apart from that costly mistake I thought he played well. Number 4 Jordan Handson also did well in my opinion. (I thought he was our best player at Eastwood). Fenton was excellent and I was fairly happy with our other defenders last night despite being without the superb Henri Wilder. Declan Errat-Thompson was my MOM. Tolley and Hallam showed plenty of good touches as did number 7, Scunthorpe loanee, Dion Sembie-Ferris. Leroy isn’t quite at his best yet but he saw a lot more of the ball last night.
So in my opinion last night’s performance was a big improvement. Previous performances had me fearful of relegation but with the players who played last night plus Henri Wilder, Jamie Ward, Mitchell Woakes  and Nathan Tyson, I am much more hopeful of a decent season ahead.

What happened to James Hurst - Is he injured?
