Alnwick Town progressed to the next round of the Cup after defeating Haltwhistle Jubilee 3-2. To be fair to the Joobs they had the best of the first half and missed several excellent chances but found themselves 2-0 at the break. Alnwick scored with their first shot at goal through Ferrier after Fife had hit the post. They then conceded a penalty clinically dispatched by Lee Johnson. Alnwick looked stronger after the break and Ferrier git his second of the game to make it 3-0. With twenty minutes to go the Joobs started to get the breaks and pulled two goals back to makee it a nervy last ten minutes for the home side.

In Alnwick's game yesterday the ref had to stand down due to illness and swap with his linesman. However as you can see from the photograph above the ref chose an unfortunate advertising board to communicate with both managers to discuss the situation!
