Under normal circumstances this would look like a routine win but Marske are fighting for their existence so anything can happen.
Marske are currently in the drop zone with Atherton, Stafford, Bradford and Basford. (Four go down)
They recently won three games in succession against Basford, Atherton and Workington but then lost to Bradford, Macclesfield and Hyde. Their last result was a 3-2 home win against Gainsborough Trinity.

Their only away win was at fellow strugglers, Atherton.

Apparently Marske need to raise £120,000 the get them through to the end of the season. So far they've received just over £11,000 so they're a long way short of their target.

How will the Marske players react to their club's predicament?

Great to see Marske United have survived to face Ilkeston tomorrow. On the downside it has some similarities to the slow death of Ilkeston FC a few years ago. Unlike Ilkeston Marske will be hoping that at least one of the ideas to save the club will come off. They have come a long way in a relatively short in 1996 they were in the Wearside League which is probably about the same level as todays Central Midlands League. If they do die it will be another example of a a shooting star club that's get too close to the sun and gets burnt!

Matt Yates has been outstanding for us this season and particularly in the last two matches against Marine and Gainsborough.. Can he make it a hat-trick of clean sheets against Marske,?

It's Matchday and the last home match before Christmas. Why not come along and show some support for Marske United who have big financial problems. No football fan likes to see another club cease to exist. We've been there ourselves.Marske is a small village and the football club is at the heart of their community. We wish them well.

On the other hand we are Ilkeston and we want to win. It's a debut for Micah Jebbison and we'll be hoping that he gets off to scoring start. We need three points before our long trip to Workington on 23rd December. Then on Boxing Day we look forward to a massive game and a massive gate in our last home game of 2023 against Matlock Towm.
