We’re back in action on Saturday and it’s a crucial game against FC United who are 2 points behind us but with 2 games in hand.
After a few below par performances we were much better at Whitby so we need to follow that up with a win.

FC United’s record to date is : P23 W9 D4 L10 F36 A45 Pts31
They have won three away matches so far at Marske, Gainsborough and on Boxing Day at Ashton.
Their away record is P12 W3 D3 L6 F18 A28 Pts12

FC United are well supported home and away so we can expect a fair few coming to the NMG

After our three wins at the start of the season under Gary Hayward, FC United were the first team to beat us, winning 1-0 at Broadhurst Park. We were unlucky to lose that one so here’s hoping we can get revenge and end our recent run of defeats.

FC United’s form throughout the season has been up and down.

They have won three of their last four matches beating Ashton 2-1, Stafford 2-1 and Gainsborough 3-1.

They have had some heavy defeats including Marine 1-5, Radcliffe 0-5, Morpeth 2-5 and Worksop 0-4.

Their biggest win was 5-2 against Marske.

Their leading scorer is Luke Griffiths with 6 goals

When the two teams met at Broadhurst Park on 22nd August this was the Ilkeston team:

Now that it's been confirmed that Marske have exited the league and we have lost 6 points, the match against FC United has increased significance.
After losing our last three league games, we are now in danger of sliding into a bottle to avoid relegation
A win against FC United would ease our fears considerably

Macclesfield v Lancaster
Marine v Hyde United
Morpeth v Bradford
Radcliffe v Workington
Stafford Rangers v Basford
Worksop v Whitby

Match of the day for me is the relegation battle between Stafford Rangers and Basford
Also in a fight against relegation are Atherton who take on Matlock
Gainsborough who have a tough away match at Guiseley and
Bradford who travel to Morpeth.

With only 21 teams now in the league, one team will now be without match every Saturday. Bamber Bridge are the team without a match tomorrow

It's match day again and an important one against Fc United of Manchester.

After our 6 points deduction following Marske's withdrawal from the league, we find ourselves closer to the relegation zone than we would want to be.

Although we are presently a decent number of points clear of danger we must be aware that the situation can quickly become worse.

A win today would go a long way towards ensuring we stay clear of the drop zone.
