Brockton to kick off . We're off
Offline
Pitch was watered before kick off and players are slipping. Good defending by Jemson averts danger. Neither side have created a chance in the opening 5 minutes

Hartshorn get a 20 yard shot in for Brocton but it's too high. Corner to Ilkeston. Corner on the other side for Ilkeston. Jenson recovers from a slip to make a great saving tackle. Ilkeston are on top but GOAL for Brocton . Hartshorn the scorer on 16 minutes

Not the start Ilkeston wanted. Ilkeston are having most possession but can't find a way through the Brocton defence. Jemson booked. Brocton are no pushovers. Ilkeston free kick into area so close to getting a connection 25 minutes 0-1.
Offline
Brocton keeper mishandles cross but gets away with it. Brocton are defending well under pressure. Deakin and Hartshorn tangle. Both spoken to by ref. The game is getting a bit lively.

A lot of misplaced passes by Ilkeston tonight. Then Ilkeston shot hits post . I think it was Walker.

Free kick to Ilkeston near corner flag. Brocton are dealing with all the high balls into their box.
It's half time and the visitors lead by the only goal.

Apparently Steve Chettle was a bit angry with the players when they came off. Second half is underway . Early shot by Wheatley beats the keeper but is just wide. Strong start by Ilkeston.
Offline
Difficult chance for Gibson which he fires over. Jamie Walker blasts the ball across the goal but no one can get a vital touch.. Hodgett-Young replied by Bennet and Smith replaced by Fairclough 55 minutes

Corner won by Bennett. GOAL from the corner prodded home by Lavell White 2-1 65 minutes. Then Penalty appeal by Ilkeston but it's turned down.
Offline
Alex Marshall replaced by Tim Hopkinson on 67 minutes.. Great opportunity for Brocton but they put it wide. Devoir replaced by Dean for Brocton on 68 minutes
Offline
Hartshorn replaced by Taylor for Brocton on 72 minutes. Great effort by White bounces off the cross bar. Jamie Walker is doing really well for Ilkeston down the left flank. Official Gate 361.
Offline
Lovell White breaks through the Brocton defence again but his attempted lob is too high. 10 minutes left
Offline
Jemson to the rescue as Brocton break well. Brocton haven't given up. Chances at both ends now. GOAL Ilkeston 87 minutes. Montel Gibson's persistence creates the opportunity for Tim Hopkinson who scores at second attempt after keeper blocks his first effort. 3-1.
Offline
Scuffle in Ilkeston goalmouth. Not sure if there was a booking. GOAL by Jordan Wheatley after 91 minutes. Big celebration by Jordan. 4-1
Wheatley's shot thudded against the post then hit the keeper before going in so the goal has officially been recorded as an own goal rather than being credited to Jordan Wheatley.

Hopkinson get on end of cross but his effort is wide. Full-time and Ilkeston have recovered from an interval deficit to win by 4-1.

Despite winning 4-1, manager SteveChettle was far from happy with the team's performance. The two late goals made the victory look more emphatic than it was. Brocton missed a good chance to equalise when the score was 2-1 and were always in the game. The visitors deservedly led at half time after Ilkeston struggled to create chances in a frustrating first period.

Are Ilkeston fans not so keen on night matches ? This was our first home evening kickoff and the attendance dropped by 200. But still well up on last season.
