Basford target promotion to National League North in 25-26 season

.
Basford United FC OWNERS STATEMENT

Josh Wakelin16 May - 18:53

"Hi all its fitting that at the conclusion of this season I provide the club update of my families position as owners of the Basford United FC group of football entities 1st team/Ladies/Academy and Juniors as well as Commercial."
"Taking all points into consideration as well as the new 3G pitch being laid in less than a month, and influenced massively by bringing back my favourite BUFC manager of all time Martin Carruthers, then we would like to clarify, the football club will not be put up for sale or will we seek external investment for shareholding at this time, unless it’s something that makes the difference to our clubs promotion aspirations."
"We therefore as a family will provide our commitment to back and fund Basford United for a further two years. In all instances, management, senior hierarchy are under no illusion this now becomes a 2-year plan to get where we want the 1st team to be and give us the best crack at progression, with promotion to the NLN back listed as our main objective, but not likely for 24/25 but more so for 25/26."
"For the NPL season 24/25 we would obviously take promotion/playoffs, but we must be realistic that, we have to continue the good work of the back of this season and move us up the table in 24/25. For this reason, recruitment/ club and football identity and many other factors will come into play this summer.""Just for the ultimate record myself and Jo have stepped back significantly this season, this will be expanded for 24/25 and subsequent years, and our visits on matchdays next season will be limited, but with the advent of technology we will always be keeping a close watch & interest on results and performances."
"In terms of all operating matters with regard to the men’s 1st team only , within authority limits this rests with the senior hierarchy of the club Stan/Milo, Gandi, Jo and Jess although obviously we will keep an interest and will have regular communication. I also feel its is imperative we increase this pool of seniority, considering fan involvement at Board level and seeking out a greater Commercial presence and more representation from our Ladies, Academy and Junior sections."
"I would like to end by thanking all who have represented the club 23/24 and myself as Chair of Basford United since my arrival in 2006, memories abound but still more to be made and I thank you all implicitly along our superb journey of 5 promotions and numerous trophies."
"A special word to our excellent fans and followers for your support and interest from days of 25 we finished at I think 386 average for 23/24 so much appreciated and lets take this too an average of 450 for 24/5. More importantly though stick with the club, as without fans the journey and 2 year project cannot succeed, and we must and you must help this continued expansion and successes on the pitch to raise our profile and attendances".

Shouldnt make promises like that it will make him look stupid , plus trying to get an average of 450 is a big ask which i think they wont get ...... but lets see .
