 Could you be Felly’s 12th man……………………….?
02/06/2024

This is it, the start of a new era. The big reset. Life after Tinners, Goose, Sam and Scotty. Call it what you like but its probably the most critical close season in terms of recruitment in recent memory.
This is your opportunity to help deliver our next set of Borough Park legends. The Board, the Manager and the Players are highly ambitious and we want to continue moving forwards with visions of reaching National League North once more.
Last season you’ve continued to back us through the turnstiles which was amazing, with ambitions of play off football come next April we need all that again and more. We’ve continued our excellent work in the local community. Lots has gone on in the background to improve the club’s image and the way we operate. Can we push on to the next level?

In order to maintain the momentum we need the help of every single supporter and that is why it is time to launch our 2024-25 Budget Booster.
New manager Mark Fell had this to say: ” The Budget Booster is hugely important to the club to ensure we can remain competitive in the player market in a league where effectively some clubs are either full time or have hybrid models. Its tough to compete but this season we believe we have a real opportunity to challenge and this will be supported by this great scheme. If you can support the Budget Booster in any way it will be hugely appreciated and I’ve already got targets in mind to ensure any money is spent in a way that can greatly benefit us on the pitch.”

With your help we can give Mark the chance to enhance the squad ahead of a 2nd campaign in a hugely competitive league, he will be able bring in quality players to complement the cream of local talent that we already have at the club. You can play your part in delivering that dream.

How does it work?
We have simplified the format for this season  but we still have a great line up of prizes and rewards which you will find in the table below. They are related to an amount of money which can be pledged either in a lump sum or as a monthly standing order. All pledges of £60 (£5 per month) will receive an entry into our prize draw and you can leave it at that if you want. Want to donate a bit more, just pick an amount and you can choose the related reward which can be taken anytime throughout the season.Every penny goes to boosting playing budget over and above what the Board have set for the new season and Mark will be able to draw on this fund as and when he sees fit. So, what about these rewards and prizes, have a look at the table below and see what takes your fancy:Monthly DonationAnnual DonationRewards (Pledge your amount) £25Your name on the Borough Park Roll of Honour Board (one off donation)

Re: This is what Workington are doing

They did this last year as well and raised £21,790 through 94 individual pledges. If 94 fans each donated £100, that's still only £9400, so clearly some fans donated a lot of money. I don't know how much of this was passed on to Danny Grainger (the manager last year) to spend on first team recruitment, but he clearly didn't do a very good job - they finished 17th in the league. It does make you wonder though, if we did the same thing at Ilkeston, how much would we raise?

Just a note about season tickets too. Lancaster and Workington are about 85 miles apart in the North West. Having been to both away games last season, I think you’d call Lancaster quite an affluent town and perhaps you’d think that Workington had fallen on hard times. And yet, Workington have one of the most expensive season tickets at £250 for adults and £170 for concessions, and Lancaster’s ‘early-bird offer’ (which runs until 30th June) has adult season tickets at £125 and concession season tickets at £90. How about that for value – a concession price of £4.28 a game and an adult price of £5.95 a game. This for a team who finished 9th in the league last year and won 10 of their 20 home games.
