Last season we finished 11th (mid table) with 60 points
There are plenty of good teams in this league so an improvement on last seasons 60 points is what we should be aiming for.
50 points ensures we avoid relegation
70 points is usually enough to get into the playoffs but for us to pickup an extra 10 points may be expecting too much.
It’s important to get a good start.
Radcliffe, Marine, Marske, Atherton, Bradford and Stafford
have been replaced by
Blyth Spartans, Mickleover, Leek, Stockton , Hebburn and Prescot Cables.
It doesn't get any easier. 2 good teams out and at least 3 good teams in

I personally think these are not great fixtures for us. I think the league has kick us in the bollox$.
Maccersfield in midweek for the second year in a row. At home again to mickleover on the weekend before Xmas. Normally the lowest league gates over the season.
If we win our fa cup game against morpeth away will be a midweek again or moved to the blank week in March which gives us 3 away games in a row.
I bet the league committee teams are all at home to Macclesfield on a Saturday

It's true that if we win our FA Cup 1st qualifying round game on 31st August then the Morpeth away game on 14th September will most likely be re-arranged as a night match.
If we were then to win our FA Cup 2nd qualifying round match then Ashton at home on 28th September would also have to be re-arranged as a night match
If we were then to win our FA Cup 3rd qualifying round match then Workington away would become a night match.
Likewise in the FA Trophy, if we win our 3rd qualifying round tie on 5th October then the Prescot Cables away match on 26th October would most likely be re-arranged as a night match.
Plenty of wishful thinking there.

I just think we are due a cup run. Seems a long time ago we played Hartlepool at home.
Before that I can't remember us having one for a long time.

Only the first FA Cup and FA Trophy matches have allocated dates. Any progress in either competition means postponing league matches and re-arrangement as night matches. The extra games can work against you in the league but a run in the FA Cup especially brings in some good revenue.
Reaching the 3rd qualifying round earns £7500 (£2250+£3375+£1875)
Reaching the 4th qualifying round earns £14375 ( £2250+£3375+£5625+£3125)
There are changes regarding replays in the FA Cup this season
From this season (2024-25) there are no FA Cup replays from the first round proper but there are replays in the earlier qualifying rounds
So if we were to draw our FA Cup 1st qualifying round match on Sat 31st August 2024 then the replay would be Tue 3rd September (There are no midweek league matches scheduled for the following week)
But if we were to progress to the 2nd qualifying round on 14th Sep 2024 it could involve two league matches having to be re-arranged. Morpeth away would be postponed and if the cup game ended in a draw then the replay would be Tue 17th Sep meaning the league match against Hyde United at home would also have to be arranged.
FA Cup prize money
First Round Qualifying winners £2,250
First Round Qualifying losers £ 750
Second Round Qualifying winners. £3,375
Second Round Qualifying losers £1,125
Third Round Qualifying winners £5,625
Third Round Qualifying losers. £1,875
Fourth Round Qualifying winners. £9,375
Fourth Round Qualifying losers £3,125
