This will be a severe test as Alfreton are a very strong side just now.
Unfortunately I can't make this match so if anyone would like to post match updates you are welcome to do so.

I was not at the Alfreton game but performances seem to be getting better, especially defensively. We started with a 3-1 home defeat to Hallam after conceding goals from set pieces. We then conceded another two goals in the draw at Kimberley before going to Skegness and keeping a clean sheet. Alfreton away looked like a more severe test of our defensive capability so producing another clean sheet suggests that we're starting to look solid at the back. There seems to be good competition for places, especially in defence. I make it, we have 19 players in the squad
Gk : Yates, Leivers
Defence : Parker, Brown, Perch, T Marshall, Robinson, Minkley, Cox, K Eratt-Thompson.
Midfield : Dixon, D Eratt-Thompson, Meikle, Wafula
Attack. : Cursons, Walker, Brandy, Markelic, Alex Marshall

Looks good on paper but take 1 player away and we are a bottom 4 side. That's how close this season will be for us.

Alex - I can't agree that we would be bottom four without Cursons. Of course he would be missed (he scores most of our goals) but I think we still would be at the very least, mid table.
I know it's a tough league but I was feeling reasonably optimistic for a good season. In my opinion, If we can keep Cursons then a playoff challenge is not out of the question. If we lose him then Sacha Markelic could step up to be his replacement. He's a goalscorer with potential, that's why we signed him.
