This Saturday we entertain Anstey Nomads in our 6th pre-season friendly.

The last time Anstey Nomads came to the NMG was in an FA Cup 2nd round replay on Tuesday 20 September 2022. The game ended 3-3 and Nomads won the penalty shootout by 5-4.

Our friendly results so far:
Hallam (H) lost 1-3
Kimberley MW (A) draw 2-2
Skegness (A) won 5-0
Alfreton (A) draw 0-0
Sheffield (H) won 2-0

Anstey's pre-season results include a 3-1 defeat at Basford.

Last season, Anstey Nomads finished 2nd in the NPL Midlands league with 88 points from 38 matches.
They were pipped by Spading United who finished as Champions with just one point more.
Anstey were then beaten by Harborough in the playoff final.

Rare mistake by Yates but Anstey forward puts the ball wide of the empty goal.
There's a full on fight between Dixon and an Anstey player. inevitably it turns into a mass brawl. It was only a matter of time before something happened. 0-0. 65 mins

I got into massive argument with their keeper . I only said there was no need to run that far to get involved . Omg the abuse I got was huge I think wanted to kick my head the abuse was that bad .
He was ok though at the final whistle ..... Thank god

If we wanted a match against physical opponents then we chose the right team.

It was a tough game for the referee who I thought did quite well.

I think Dixon got Man of the Match for showing some fight.

I thought Anstey were really physical today. Right from the kick off they were clattering our players. I think it was one of our trialists who needed treatment from the physio in the first two minutes. It will be interesting to hear how many players have picked up knocks in Ian Deakin's after match comments.

It was not the most entertaining match but it's another clean sheet. On the other hand we created few opportunities

Was it the trialist 7 who had a great run from the right then had a great shot hitting the bar , Plus was it the same trialist who turning their players well quite a few times but no end result.

Great to see us keeping a clean sheet again but we all know our problem is scoring goals.

It will be a long hard season if we don't sort it out
