Bamber Bridge will be no pushovers. They have had 4 tough opening games and have conceded only 3 goals. They beat Whitby 2-1, lost to Hyde 1-2, then had creditable 0-0 draws against Worksop and Ashton. So defensively they look strong
Ian Deakin is looking to strngthen the side but he would probably have to lose a player before he can do this.

Bamber Bridge were promoted to the NPL Premier Division at the end of the 2017-18 season after winning the NPL East Division playoffs beating Tadcaster Albion then Prescot Cables in the final.
They had a poor season last season finishing 16th but the season before (2022-23) they finished 3rd losing out to Warrington Town in the playoff final.
And the season before that, (2021-22) they finished 6th, just missing out on the playoffs.

8th placed Ilkeston (6 points) could go above Whitby, Worksop, Ashton and Stockton if they beat Bamber Bridge.
Whitby (7 points) are at home to Macclesfield
Worksop (7 points) are home to Blyth Spartans
Ashton United (8 points) are home to Workington
Stockton (9 points) are away to Hyde United

It's MATCHDAY No 5
Last season we beat Bamber Bridge twice. We won the home match 1-0 with a goal by Luke Cox and the away match by 4-1 with goals by Meikle, Alex Marshall, Cursons and Walker.
Both teams are stronger this season
Supporters will be hoping a win today but nothing can be taken for granted.

we've re-started and its a free kick to Bamber on the edge of the Penalty area. It's a real chance. The shot hits Cursons and goes to safety. 1-1. 47 mins

More good play by Cursons who has been announced as MOTM.
Close shave for Ilkeston when Bamber break and header from cross is so close.
Big effort by Bamber to find a leveller. Another Bamber header is inches to high.
