‘Regretfully’ Accept Offer For Striker Montel Gibson09th September 2024 by Hereford FC - Club NewsHereford FC can confirm that an offer from a club at Step 3 in the non-league pyramid – one level below the Bulls – has been accepted for striker, Montel Gibson.
While no-one at the club wants Montel to leave Edgar Street, a change in Montel’s working life means getting to training sessions in Studley every Tuesday and Thursday was likely to be an issue moving forward.
Speaking about this news, Hereford FC manager, Paul Caddis, has offered supporters an insight into discussions he has had with Montel in the past 24 hours and explained how this situation has come about.
Caddis said:
“I can confirm that we have regretfully, but respectfully, accepted an offer for Montel Gibson.“While we are disappointed to lose him, the offer that’s been accepted suits all parties and to continue to be open with supporters, I’d like to elaborate on the events that have taken place in the past 24 hours.
“On Sunday morning I had a call from Monty where he was very open and honest about his work commitments. He explained that he has been given an opportunity in his working life that benefits him and, most importantly, his young family, that he simply cannot turn down.
“Due to the new work commitment Montel is now unable to commit fully to us and will be looking to relocate to a different area which will make things much more difficult for him.
“With that being the case, as a club we decided it was better to try to move quickly to address the situation and when an acceptable offer was received for the player, we decided to accept it so everyone can move on and plan for the future.

Strange he asked to leave for personal reasons on Sunday, if an offer came in they wouldn’t stand in his way and lo and behold an offer comes in

Remaye Campbell has also joined Matlock for an undisclosed fee.
Despite not having a manager, that's two big money signings made.

I'm thinking somebody else is helping them who also has back links with us.

They are both good signings for Matlock but I must add that Montel has a habit of not staying places very long.
