I’d be happy with that, only 1 loss at home, that’s a big ask

If we can the team we have yes I will be very happy with that . But ..... I wouldn't want promotion honestly I wouldn't let's just keep the club at a stability where we are happy. Promotion could kill the club.

It’s early days but with no league matches this weekend with it being FA Trophy Saturday, we can reflect on how things are at present.
Ilkeston are just outside the playoff positions. Macclesfield and Worksop are the standout teams so far and It looks like those two are going to battle it out for the automatic promotion spot. That leaves 3 playoff places available for the likes of Ilkeston and others. Last season there was always four teams ahead of the others leaving only one playoff spot to aim for.
In 3rd place at present is promoted Hebburn with 23 points from 11 matches. At present they are an unknown quantity. They have to play against Macc and Worksop in October so we’ll see how good they are then.
In 4th place is Ashton with 21 points from 12 matches. They just missed out last season and will be expected to be playoff contenders again this season. They have lost to Macc and play Worksop in October.
In 5th place is Guiseley with 20 points from 11 matches. They did well last season and have brought in some good players this season so I expect them to stay in the top five. Two of their 3 defeats so far were against Macc and Worksop.
In 6th place is Mickleover who have recovered after a slow start. They have 17 points from 12 matches. They picked up just one point from their opening 3 matches but have since only lost once 0-4 against Worksop.
In 7th place is Ilkeston with 16 points from 10 matches. We have already played both Macc and Worksop. In October we travel to Morpeth, Workington and Prescot and host Hyde and Guiseley. With a game more than the other teams in October we have a chance to improve our position.
In 8th place is Hyde United with 16 points from 11 matches. They were regarded as one of the best teams last season. After a good start this season they’ve failed to win any of their last six matches. They’ve drawn with Macc.
In 9th place is Basford who are having a much better season than last. They have 16 points from 12 matches. They have 3 winnable matches in October against Bamber (h), Matlock (a) and Stockton (h) so should stay in contention.
