Guiseley corner. Nothing from it. Great drive forward and shot by Kirby-Moore ends with a great save by Cracknall who stops the ball with an outstretched foot. Longbottom free kick is only just wide of the top corner. 1-1. 63 mins

It was not on FootballWebPages which is usually very reliable but yes you are right both Heanor and Eastwood were in the FA Vase.

One one is ok BUT we had the better chances to win the game especially when Curzon smashed the bar. But what was he thinking when he tried to chip their keeper ...
Their number Severn was their best player gave Tom a game hence he got booked fouling him.
Brandy was very frustrating to watch today he made hardly any runs and was totally in their two pocket. But he generated Curzon shot which the bar.
But I suppose a draw I would have took before the game .
Oh I nearly forgot the ref .....
Loved giving free kicks to them but when Matt got fouled late in the game .... Nothing ...

Northern Premier League
Ilkeston Town 1 Guiseley 1
Tom Cursons scored his 14th goal of the season but it was not enough to give Ilkeston victory against playoff hopefuls Guiseley whose manager concluded “Not many teams will come here and get more than a point’. But for Ilkeston it was more points dropped from winning positions.
Defences dominated the early stages. The first real opportunity fell to John Lufudu on 17 minutes when the Guiseley winger latched onto a forward ball but he was denied by a last ditch tackle by Sam Parker. On 24 minutes Ilkeston were ahead when Lindon Meikle won the ball in midfield and put Cursons through with a superb pass. Ilkeston’s striker raced towards goal and fired past Joe Cracknall and into the net. A period of Ilkeston ascendancy followed and defender Jake Lawlor was happy to concede only a corner when Connor Dixon fired in a dangerous low cross shot. Cursons then had a chance to double his tally after being found by Jordan Stevens but he scooped his shot over the bar. On 39 minutes Guiseley were level with a fine finish by Lufudu who burst forward at speed and hammered the ball past Matt Yates. A couple of minutes later Guiseley nearly added a second but Parker got a foot in to divert the shot for a corner.
When the second half was underway the first thing of note was a red card shown to Guiseley Assistant Manager Danny Boshell in the dugout. A surging drive forward and shot by Harvey Kirby-Moore brought an outstanding save from Cracknall. Will Longbottom had a chance for Guiseley with a free kick which flew wide but it was Ilkeston looking more likely to score. Cursons was unlucky to see his powerful effort crash against the crossbar after good build up play by L’Varn Brandy and Kirby-Moore. Ilkeston were again close on 80 minutes when Kirby-Moore’s powerful effort was parried for a corner by Cracknall but they could have lost the game in the closing moments when Lufudu did his best to steal the points for Guiseley.

NPL Round Up Sat 19th October 2024
Macclesfield opened up a seven-point gap at the top of the Northern Premier League table as they continued their unbeaten league start.
The Silkmen ran out narrow winners over Warrington Rylands, with Danny Elliott’s early goal enough to secure a 1-0 win.
Robbie Savage’s side saw their nearest challengers, Worksop Town, fall to a second defeat in three games, at home to another of the division's early-season high-flyers in Hebburn Town. A quick start at Sandy Lane saw Hebburn take a 3-2 lead shortly before the half-hour mark, with the Tigers having led inside six minutes. However, Michael Turner’s second half strike confirmed a big 4-2 win for the Hornets, putting an end to their brief two-game winless run.
Elsewhere, Stockton Town climbed into the play-off spots following a commanding 3-0 home win over Mickleover. In a game where all the goals came in the first half, the Anchors controlled proceedings to secure a third straight league win, their goals coming from Michael Sweet, Tom Coulthard and Michael Roberts.
Guiseley are the other side who end the weekend in the top five, despite their winless league run being stretched to five games after a second consecutive 1-1 draw, this time away at Ilkeston Town. Tom Cursons was on the scoresheet again for the Robins, netting his 12th goal in 13 league games. Still, John Lufudu’s equaliser before half-time was enough to secure a point for the visitors at the New Manor Ground.
Towards the bottom of the division, Matlock Town climbed out of the bottom four with a 3-2 win over Basford United.Ryan Cresswell’s first home game in charge of the Gladiators wasn’t without any late scares though, as Basford almost staged a comeback from three goals down. Ultimately, Matlock were able to hang on and secure a second straight league win, moving them to 18th.
At the SFC Stadium, FC United of Manchester conceded four first-half goals as they were beaten heavily by Bamber Bridge.
Meanwhile, Lancaster City and Ashton United played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Giant Axe. Ashton raced out to an early two-goal lead inside 15 minutes, but second-half goals from Dom Lawson and Lewis Mansell helped salvage a draw for the Dolly Blues - a league-high eighth in 14 games.
Hyde United left it late to take all three points against Workington, with a stoppage-time penalty from Jack Redshaw securing an important 3-2 win as Nicky Spooner’s side drew level on points with sides in the top five.
Prescot Cables were unable to take advantage of the sides above them dropping points, however, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Morpeth Town.
Goals either side of half-time from Rhys Evans and Nic Bollado ensured a 2-0 win for the Highwaymen, lifting them to 14th.
And in the final game of the weekend, nothing could separate Whitby Town and Leek Town as they played out a goalless draw. Both remain outside of the relegation zone, but only by slender two and four-point margins respectively.

Disappointing attendance last night of 354 (half of what we need).
Those that came were rewarded with one of those rare matches that has a last minute Ilkeston winner.
Brilliant to see supporters and players mingling after the game and enjoying the win together.
