Delan gets a yellow .
Result : Cables 3 Ilkeston 1
i feel that we would have won that game with 11 players. It's so hard to come from behind when you're a player short.

Colin Daniel's instinctive decision to keep the ball out with his hand proved to be IIkeston's undoing as Prescot scored from the spot anyway and we then had to play 70 minutes with a player short. There followed a fighting performance against the odds but as we pushed hard to get the leveller inevitably we were caught on the break. The ref had a chance to even up the players on each side early in the second half when one of the Prescot players should have seen red for violent conduct but only got a yellow. Apart from that I thought the referee was okay. The ten men really tried hard to rescue the game but it was not our day.

Prescot Cables 3 Ilkeston Town 1
Missed chances followed by a sending off condemned Ilkeston to defeat in Liverpool. Ilkeston squandered two golden chances take the lead then after only 20 minutes they were reduced to ten players when Colin Daniel handled the ball on the goal line and received a straight red card. With ten players, Ilkeston tried valiantly in the second half to overcome their handicap but in the end Prescot’s clinical finishing won the day.
Ilkeston started confidently and Jonathan Wafula missed a clear opportunity on 8 minutes when he fired high and wide with the goal at his mercy. On 17 minutes a Jamie Walker corner caused havoc in the Cables box. Nathan Koehler cleared of the line before the ball eventually fell to Harvey Kirby-Moore who could only fire straight at keeper Andre Mendes. Then came the penalty incident where Daniel handled and James Foley scored from the spot. The goal gave Prescot a boost and Jack Goodwin saw his strike deflected onto the corner of the Ilkeston crossbar. Preston North End loanee Finlay Cross-Adair then created a chance for John Murphy which brought a fine reaction save by Yates.
After a strong second half start by Ilkeston, a Cables player was lucky to only see yellow following violent conduct. Ilkeston pushed hard for a leveller and Tom Cursons went close with a shot from distance after getting past two defenders. Cursons was close again when he beat keeper Andre Mendes to a through ball but saw his effort go the wrong side of the post. Tom Marshall’s header was then tipped over the bar by Mendes. Against the run of play Cables doubled the lead through Ben Elliott following a superb counter attacking run by the impressive Cross-Adair. Ilkeston were deflated and Prescot soon added a third through Lewis Gilboy. The Robins kept going and Declan Eratt-Thompson fired just too high before the Robins finally got on the scoresheet when Cursons converted a penalty after a foul in the box.

Prescot Cables have confirmed the signing of Calvin Hare from City of Liverpool, while Andre Mendes departs the club.
Hare, 30, made 50 appearances for the Purps last season, playing a key role as they reached the Liverpool Senior Cup final and NPL West Division play-off final against his new side, losing out 2-0 to his new side Prescot Cables.
A Wigan Athletic Academy player, he has a wealth of experience between the sticks from his time at Burscough, AFC Fylde, Droylsden, Witton Albion and Marine.
He will go straight into contention to make his debut for Prescot in their upcoming Liverpool Senior Cup first round fixture at home against Burscough on Tuesday night.
With the arrival of Hare, the club have announced that incumbent goalkeeper Andre Mendes will depart to seek opportunities elsewhere.
The 21-year-old Brazilian shot-stopper joined in the summer after a brief stint at FC United of Manchester.
A former Benfica youth player, Mendes featured 16 times in all competitions for the Pesky Bulls, keeping five clean sheets.
I don't feel sorry for Mendes after all the time wasting he did in our match. In the last 15 minutes, every time he got the ball he dropped to the floor with it. The ref should have booked him.

One of Prescot's officials said after the game that they didn't expect to win and 3 points was a massive bonus.
If we hadn't gone down to ten players early on we would have almost certainly won. We dominated the game even with a player short but we were caught on the counter and Prescot took their chances. The lad on the wing on loan from Preston did the damage. One of our supporters who missed the game said it was a bad result and yes, it did look that way. But anyone who went to the match will know that the team gave it their best shot and it was just one of those games when fortune favoured the opposition.
The ref explained the red card after the game and a Prescot official showed us a close up picture of the handball. The ref said "You only have yourselves to blame, you should have been two up before the red card." And his words were very true. We missed two golden chances and that was what cost us the game. Had we taken just one of those chances we may have been able to see out the game one player short. But if you have to find a equaliser there's always the possibility of being caught short in defence which is exactly what happened.
